Licensed Clinical Social Worker

Who I Am

I have been in clinical practice for almost 25 years and work with clients to provide effective outpatient, individualized, therapeutic care. In my practice, I have worked with clients who have struggled with a variety of issues related to mental health, life transitions, trauma, depression, anxiety, relationship struggles, sexual abuse, separations/divorce, as well as co-parenting.

My Treatment Focus

My focus is to help individuals identify their goals, and work with them to identify the best pathway to help them reach those goals. I value client feedback and working collaboratively to create an effective treatment approach that feels right to you.

My Therapeutic Approach

I am committed to being a partner in the therapeutic process and  to help you move forward to where you want to be in your life. I value the therapeutic relationship in this process and pair it with learning and developing news skills through effective therapeutic models, such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT), solution-focused therapy,  and interpersonal models of psychotherapy.

Issues Addressed

Depression & Anxiety

Depression, fear, and anxiety are some of the most common and uncomfortable emotions that we can experience at some point in our lives. Through therapy it can be possible to develop new and more helpful ways to you to manage those feelings and live the life of your choosing.

Trauma & PTSD

Many individuals can experience symptoms associated with painful and traumatic circumstances. Anxiety, fear, and hopelessness are a few emotions that can linger post traumatic events. Therapy can provide a safe space for you to grieve and work to integrate those experiences into your life.

Relationships

Many people enter therapy because they are struggling in one or more of their relationships with others. Therapy can help you to build and maintain stronger relationships by helping to develop new relational patterns in the context of the therapeutic relationship where new ways of engaging with others can be practiced in a safe and secure space.

What makes My Practice Different

My Training

Attention to What Works

Attention to What Works

I have been trained in different models of psychotherapy that I offer to my clients. I work with clients to identify which approach might be the best for them.

Attention to What Works

Attention to What Works

Attention to What Works

In addition to being a psychotherapist, I am also a professor and researcher. These roles allow me to have access to the latest research on what works in psychotherapy. I bring this knowledge to my work with clients.

Client-Centered

Attention to What Works

Client-Centered

Regardless of which therapeutic approach used in the work with clients, I work to create therapeutic relationships that are client-centered, collaborative and transparent. I believe that clients should be part of the decision-making process regarding what approach is taken in psychotherapy.

Due to COVID and the safety for all, I am only providing therapy via teletherapy.
